The Cathode Stripping Station is a centralized system designed to manage and coordinate the entire stripping process of copper cathodes from permanent cathode plates. It integrates feeding, stripping, sorting, stacking, and discharging functions into a compact, automated layout, significantly enhancing operational efficiency and reducing labor dependency in copper EW plants.

The cathode stripping station is a modular stripping unit designed for integration into existing production lines or as part of a complete cathode handling system. Built with PRS's proven 3-Stage Stripping Technology, it delivers reliable, high-quality copper separation while maintaining a compact, flexible form factor.

Unlike complete stripping machines that include input, output and transfer systems, the stripping station focuses on the core copper separation function. It is ideal for plants that want to build their own custom stripping line, or for retrofitting existing lines with improved stripping performance.

3-Stage Stripping Technology

The stripping station uses a three-stage stripping process designed to ensure clean, complete copper separation while minimizing stress on cathode plates:

• Stage 1: Top Edge Separating Mechanical wedges precisely insert between the cathode plate and copper deposit at the top edge, creating a clean starting point for stripping. This initial separation is critical for consistent results and prevents tearing or incomplete stripping.
• Stage 2: Progressive Stripping Specially designed stripping blades move downward along both sides of the cathode plate, progressively peeling the copper sheet away from the plate surface. The controlled motion applies uniform force, reducing mechanical stress on the cathode plate and extending its service life.
• Stage 3: Full Separation & Discharge The copper sheet is completely separated from the cathode plate and guided to the discharge position. The empty cathode plate remains held in position, ready for return to the cell. The three-stage design ensures nearly 100% stripping success rate with minimal plate damage.
