Overview | FRP Insulation Board for Electrowinning Cell Tops
Cell Furniture is the widely used short name for FRP capping board in global copper mining industry, formally named Cell Top Furniture. This single insulation plate is laid on the top of electrowinning cells to bear electrode hangers and block acid mist.

Core Working Functions
Support Electrode Hangers: Slots are pre-processed on the board surface to hold anode and cathode hangers, keeping electrodes at fixed horizontal positions during continuous electrolysis. It reduces random shifting caused by electrolyte flow or lifting operations.
Electrical Isolation: As non-conductive FRP material, it forms insulation between metal hangers, copper busbars and tank bodies, lowering risks of short circuit and stray current leakage.
Block Acid Mist Splashing: The solid flat structure reduces outward splashing of sulfuric acid mist, slowing corrosion on surrounding busbars and workshop steel frames.
Stabilize Inter-Electrode Distance: Uniformly distributed slot positions help maintain consistent gap between adjacent electrodes, which contributes to relatively even current distribution inside each cell.

We adjust board structures based on clients' on-site equipment conditions:
- Slot Layout
Slot spacing, slot width and slot depth are processed to fit the size of local anode and cathode hangers. Single-row and double-row slot designs are both available.
2. Edge Treatment
Flat straight edges for general cells; widened edge contact area for tanks with frequent electrode lifting.
3. Reserved Openings
Additional cutouts can be added for matching acid mist hood mounting if clients have related layout plans.
